Monthly Wrapup

MONTHLY WRAPUP MARCH 2019

I still can’t believe we’re practically a quarter of the way through 2019. Not gonna lie, I haven’t achieved much but these past few months have just flown by way too fast.

Because I had the memory span of a teaspoon, I really couldn’t tell you what happened in March but I do know that in terms of reading, it was pretty good.

I read a total of 9 books with a total of 3,322 pages and I had an average rating of 4.1/5 stars. During this month, I read a lot of contemporary because I was really in that sort of mood. Other than that, I read 2 classics and then towards the end, mixed it up a little with one magical realism and one fantasy book.

I’d say I read a lot of really amazing books this month and my favourite would have to be Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills. This was my first Emma Mills book and I’m honestly so glad I finally got around to reading her books because they are so good.

Ok, I just have to say that when I was looking back at the books I’ve read this month it felt like ages since I had actually read them. I guess March was longer than I thought it was.

On the Come Up – Angie Thomas

I honestly forgot how amazing Angie Thomas was until I read this. I mean, I never imagined something could ever top the Hate U Give but then this happened and I’m just so shook right now.

Anne of Green Gables – L. M. Montgomery

This is definetly one of my new favourite classics. I had so much fun reading this and it just made me feel like a little kid again. Definetly rereading this in the near future.

This Adventure Ends – Emma Mills

✦✦✦✦½✧

Okay, I didn’t enjoy this quite as much as Foolish Hearts but I still absolutely loved it. I loved the friendships and the found families and this was honestly so much fun to read.

Heretics Anonymous – Katie Henry

✦✦✦✧✧

This was definetly really interesting to read because I generally don’t read too many books with religion in them. This was definetly really relatable and I loved their little friendship group.

The Inexplicable Logic of my Life – Benjamin Alire Sáenz

✦✦✦✦✧

This book warmed my heart so much. There were such pure friendships and family relationships and I kind of just wanted to cry the whole time because Sal is such a soft little child. My only complaint is that this didn’t have much of a plot but was still really sweet to read ❤

Blanca & Roja – Anna-Marie McLemore

✦✦✦✦✦

This was definetly another one of my favourite books I read this month. It was so enchanting and I loved the fairy tale aspect of it. The characters were stunning and the writing was nothing short of absolute perfection. I am so glad I finally got to this

Daughter of Smoke and Bone – Laini Taylor

I FINALLY started this series after it being on my tbr for literal decades. I’m currently still reading the series and really enjoying it. Laini Taylor will never stop amazing me.

The Odyssey – Homer

This was another classic read for the classics club and it was pretty decent. I mean, I wasn’t expecting to love it but I read it more because I was just interested in it. I also have to thank Rick Riordan for giving me all my knowledge of Greek Mythology.
